Tripartite meeting on Nov 28: GJM

The Hindu

Kolkata (PTI): The Gorkha Janamukti Morcha (GJM), spearheading a statehood movement in Darjeeling, on Wednesday said that the tripartite talks among the Centre, West Bengal government and itself on Gorkhaland issue would be held on November 28.

“We have come to know from a reliable source that the tripartite meeting is to be held on November 28, though we have not heard anything from the government in this regard,” GJM publicity secretary Benoy Tamang told PTI from Darjeeling.

On Tuesday, Urban Development Minister Ashok Bhattacharya, a CPI(M) leader from Silguri, said that West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacherjee had urged the Centre to hold the second tripartite meeting on Gorkhaland as early as possible to resolve the crisis in Darjeeling.
